County Burnt Store Area Plan (BSAP)

The
Plan calls for full mixed use, and creating wildlife
corridors between Babcock Preserve and Cecil Webb
Wildlife Refuge to Charlotte Harbor.

Transportation
Plans currently call for
Burnt Store Road to be widened to four lanes by 2010.
Connection on Tuckers Grade, extended to connect to Burnt
Store Road by 2015.
An alternate N/S Road
connection between Zemel Road E/W to the new Tuckers Grade
extension is planned for 2020.
The Plan acknowledges
that all of these dates need to be expedited.
The
BSAP does not address the trucking issues raised in the
MP2005, and efforts to mitigate the impact of trucking along
Burnt Store Road are not addressed. There is acknowledgement
additional studies are required, however this needs to be
followed-up.

Daily Living Activity Centers
The BSAP calls for
neighborhood centers in accordance with the Plan and further
provides for an interconnected and integrated community
incorporating pedestrian and bicycle corridors connecting
each area to parks, schools and commercial areas.
